Protesters have been arrested and police officers assaulted in "unacceptable violence" during a large rally organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson in Central London.
Riot police and officers on horseback were brought in to keep protesters at Robinson’s "Unite the Kingdom" rally separate from those involved in the counter-protest called the March Against Fascism, organised by Stand Up To Racism, as they both gathered near Whitehall on Saturday afternoon.
