Flash floods have killed at least 27 people in central Texas – a number of them children – as a search for 27 missing girls continues.

Rescue efforts continued today in Kerr County after the equivalent of four months of heavy rain fell in just two hours in the early hours of yesterday, causing the Guadalupe River to break its banks.
Several of those unaccounted for are young campers who were staying at an all-girls summer camp along the banks of the river.
