Before she was a movie icon, Bridget Jones had already achieved worldwide fame as the main character in ‘Bridget Jones’ diary’, released in 1996.
ITN interviewed its author Helen Fielding two years later, after the novel became a hit.
She spoke about how the character came into being, and her hopes that Bridget Jones would redefine what it meant to be a single woman.
