Chancellor Rachel Reeves is set to go further with cuts to welfare as she delivers her Spring Statement on Wednesday.

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) say the government’s sums on benefits cuts fall short of the £5bn they said they’d save, meaning Reeves is now expected to announce a further £500 million of savings through cuts to universal credit.
