The 26th of June 2023 marked the first anniversary of a devastating tragedy in the South African city of East London. In the early hours of the morning, 21 teenagers were found dead, having spent the previous evening in an overcrowded bar. More than one year on, families say they remain in the dark about the causes of their deaths, with autopsies and forensic reports hidden from public view.
