The importance of youth clubs – in face of cuts to services

The crisis in council funding could have a serious impact on the provision of key youth services, campaigners have warned.

Research shared exclusively with this programme by the Youth Endowment Fund – a charity working to prevent youth violence – reveals that children directly affected by violence are twice as likely to attend youth clubs regularly as those who have not.

And without greater protection for those services, campaigners fear that already high rates of knife crime could soar further.
