'The Left have CROSSED a line!' France ERUPTS as MP assistant arrested amid 'Antifa student murder'

A parliamentary assistant linked to France’s far-left political movement has been arrested following the fatal beating of 23-year-old maths student Quentin Deranque in Lyon. The case has sent shockwaves through French politics, raising questions about political extremism, street violence, and accountability.

Jacques-Elie Favrot, an aide to an MP from La France Insoumise, is among nine people taken into custody after Deranque was attacked by a group of masked individuals. The incident occurred near a university event connected to MP Rima Hassan. Prosecutors say the student and his group were keeping their distance before being approached and assaulted.

French media reports suggest links between suspects and the banned militant group La Jeune Garde. The case has intensified scrutiny on Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his party, with growing political pressure in the aftermath of the killing.

Meanwhile, Jordan Bardella of National Rally has condemned the attack, calling it evidence that “the Left has crossed a line.” The tragedy has ignited fierce debate over political rhetoric, extremist violence, and media responsibility in France.
