The new world disorder: Is the age of peace and stability over? | To the Point

For more than two decades, this program has examined the biggest crises, wars, and political turning points shaping our world. Now, after 23 years on air, we look back one final time.

From the Iraq War and the turmoil across the Middle East to the rise of Donald Trump, the return of great power competition, Russia’s war against Ukraine, and the ongoing debate over NATO and Europe’s role in global security, the questions that defined the past two decades are more relevant than ever.

We revisit the key issues that dominated public debate: Vladimir Putin’s quest for power, the challenge posed by China’s authoritarian model, Germany’s struggles over migration, economic uncertainty, and the resilience of democracy. Along the way, we ask what lessons have been learned from years of conflict, disruption, and change.

Has the era of peace and stability come to an end? Are we entering a permanent age of crisis? And what does the future hold for Europe, Germany, and the international order?

In this final edition of To the Point, we reflect on 23 years of debate and ask whether the "new world disorder" is here to stay.
