The UK economy grew by just 0.1% in the last quarter of 2025 – less than experts had predicted.

The Office for National Statistics said the services sector had shown no growth at all, with construction seeing its worst performance for four years.

Economists described it as "disappointing" but the Chancellor Rachel Reeves insisted Britain had the fastest growing European economy out of all the G7 nations.
