Donald Trump has sparked outrage by claiming Nato troops stayed "a little off the front lines" during the War in Afghanistan.
Former UK ambassador to Afghanistan Sir Nicholas Kay says the US president is "wrong" and that Trump "clearly does not value and appreciate Nato in the same way he ought to".
He adds: "he’s not known for his respect for other people and he’s not known for his accuracy in facts and I’m afraid this is another example".
