'There's no comeback for tabloids': Caroline Flack's mother on her daughter's death | ITV News

Five years after the TV presenter killed herself, Christine Flack investigated the final months of her daughter Caroline’s life in a new documentary.

At the time, she was facing prosecution for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend, dominating front pages, and, subjected to abusive and hateful messages online. Following her arrest, the Crown Prosecution Service initially decided that the star should receive a caution. However, a Metropolitan Police officer appealed that decision, and she was charged with assault by beating. It was later, ruled by a coroner, that Caroline Flack had killed herself because of her prosecution and the publicity she feared the trial would attract.
