"This is not a so-called regime change war, but the regime sure did change," says US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on the operation in Iran.
Hegseth added that the goal of America’s attacks in Iran are "clear" – to "destroy the navy and missile threat" and prevent it from building nuclear weapons.
Hegseth would not clarify how long the operation would last nor did he completely rule out US soldiers on the ground in Iran.
The defense secretary also paid tribute to four Americans that have died in the conflict so far.
