There was a heavy police presence for the Together Alliance event, which was billed as an attempt to stand up against the "politics of division".
Many protesters carried placards with slogans like "migrants make our NHS". It comes seven months after right-wing activist Tommy Robinson staged a Unite the Kingdom rally in the capital.
