Natalie Elphicke, the MP for Dover, has defected to the Labour Party.
She crossed the floor of the Commons shortly before Prime Minister’s Questions began – the second Tory to do so in 10 days.
Speaking after her defection, she said that under Rishi Sunak the Conservative Party had "abandoned the centre ground and broken many election promises".
