Tory shadow minister defects to Reform UK

Tory MP Danny Kruger has defected from the Conservatives to Reform UK, Nigel Farage has announced.

Mr Kruger, who is the MP for East Wiltshire, co-chaired the New Conservatives group in the last parliament.

Labour is consistently trailing Reform UK in the opinion polls, which could present a serious challenge for the government in local elections in May.
