Transport secretary resigns over fraud offence from 2013

Louise Haigh has resigned as transport secretary after it emerged that she pleaded guilty to a fraud offence to police over a decade ago.

Ms Haigh went to police in 2013 – before she was a Labour MP – and said she had lost her work mobile phone in a mugging, but later found it had not been taken.
