Trapped pygmy blue whale freed from under wharf in New Zealand

A young whale wedged under a wharf in New Zealand has been freed by a team of conservationists and local residents.

Rescuers said the pygmy blue whale ‘showed a little distress’ as a barge was brought in to dismantle the wharf, but it then swam off into deeper waters.
