The US Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced that the education department in the state of Maine is being sued for not complying with the Trump administration’s push to ban transgender girls from girls’ sports teams.

President Trump signed an executive order in February aimed at banning transgender girls and women from competing in female school sports.
The lawsuit comes five days after the Trump administration tried to cut off all of Maine’s federal funding for public schools and its school lunch program over the issue.
