A deal on ending the war in Ukraine has not been reached, despite the efforts of US President Donald Trump during face-to-face talks with Russia’s President Putin in Alaska.
On Friday, the two leaders greeted one another on the tarmac of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. They shook hands and smiled for pictures together before making their way to Trump’s presidential limousine.
They spoke for around two and a half hours before delivering a joint news conference.
