Not quite, according to Denmark, which said the agreement would enshrine Greenland’s sovereignty and rights to self determination.

While the details of the agreement aren’t known yet, there is a sense that all sides in this deal have claimed victory.
Donald Trump said this new agreement would grant the US "permanent control over security", while Denmark and Greenland claimed they’ve protected the territory’s sovereignty.
The US has maintained a military base in Greenland since the Cold War, with the right to deploy forces there. Trump has repeatedly said he wanted to buy the island to the alarm of western allies.
