Hundreds of US Marines have arrived in Los Angeles after another night of sporadic protests over President Trump’s immigration raids. That’s on top of the 2000 National Guard troops, a number which the administration has said may double.

It amounts to a significant and unusual escalation of domestic force.
Mr Trump insisted the demonstrators were "paid insurrectionists", and accused the California governor Gavin Newsom of "causing a lot of death".
There are no reports of any deaths during the protests.
Mr Newsom condemned the decision to send in military forces as a "blatant abuse of power"
