The Ukrainian capital Kyiv was rocked by hours of explosions overnight as Russia launched hundreds of drones and missiles – hitting blocks of flats, a medical facility, railway lines and a school.

At least 23 people were injured, while residents were warned to keep windows closed because of dangerously high levels of toxins in the clouds of smoke hanging over the city.
President Zelenskyy said the attack came right after reports of Donald Trump’s phone call with Vladimir Putin.
