US President Donald Trump has hailed the relationship he has forged with Chinese leader Xi Jinping as a "truly great friendship", as the highly anticipated state visit got underway.
Artificial intelligence, trade and the war in Iran are all on the agenda for when the two leaders sit down for talks today. President Xi is in the US for a three-day state visit, following Trump’s visit to Beijing earlier this year.
It comes as reporters from CNN, MS NOW and Politico had access to the White House restored after being banned by the Trump administration.
