US President Donald Trump has threatened to double tariffs on Chinese imports to 104 percent by noon tomorrow. And contrary to the rumours and fake news that had US Share prices yoyo-ing, he insisted tonight there would be no 90 day pause. As US Correspondent Dan Rivers explains.
Meanwhile, Political Editor Robert Peston heard Sir Keir Starmer’s speech in Solihull. The prime minister called for "cool heads" and promised to help the especially hard-hit car industry. He also said he will bring forward plans to ease sales targets for electric vehicles.
In the UK the FTSE 100 index has now lost 10% since the tariffs were announced last Wednesday.
