
Donald Trump is stepping up the pressure on Venezuela ordering a blockade on sanctioned oil tankers heading in and out of its ports. The US seized one vessel off the coast last week. Trump claims Venezuela uses oil revenues to fund drug-trafficking into the US. Washington has also moved to designate the government of President Nicolas Maduro a foreign terrorist organization. But the leadership in Caracas remains defiant.
