Trump says he will make decision on US military action in Iran ‘within two weeks’

Donald Trump will make a decision on ordering US military action against Iran "within the next two weeks", the White House has said.

At a press conference on Thursday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the president still believed Iran could come back to the negotiating table.

It comes as world leaders warn of a serious risk of escalation in the Middle East amid Israel and Iran’s exchange of missile attacks.

The conflict between the two countries is now in its seventh day, with a Washington-based group, Human Rights Activists, saying at least 639 Iranians have been killed and more than 1,300 injured.
