The US National Guard is expected to be deployed in the city of Chicago, despite opposition from the city’s Mayor and the state Governor.
Critics say the deployment is part of President Trump’s effort to send troops to cities with Democrats in charge, which he says have failed to get a grip on crime and anti- immigration protests.
