Donald Trump has called for his government to re-examine Afghan immigrants who entered the country during Joe Biden’s administration – after two National Guard soldiers were shot and critically wounded in Washington.
The suspect was arrested and later identified as Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who is reported to have worked with US special forces in Afghanistan.
Following Trump’s remarks, US immigration authorities said that they had stopped processing all Afghan immigration requests indefinitely.
