Trump strikes tariff deal with Mexico but will he target EU next?

President Trump has worked out one deal – with Mexico, which has rapidly deployed troops to the border, in exchange for a delay on America’s threatened tariffs.

But Mr Trump has doubled down on his threats against the EU, saying they have chosen tariffs because of the bloc’s tax rules.

He also hinted there could also be a deal with the UK, although Sir Keir Starmer would say only that "intense US-EU discussions are planned".
