Donald Trump will welcome Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the White House this afternoon for a meeting Ukraine had hoped would result in more military support.
But it comes after a two-hour call between Trump and Vladimir Putin yesterday, in which Moscow said it warned the US about supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, something Zelenskyy had been pushing for.
Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov told reporters that Putin said supplying long-range missiles to Ukraine would harm the peace process and damage US-Russia ties.
