US President Donald Trump has said "this was our last, best chance" to strike Iran, during a speech at the White House.
His words come as the war in the Middle East continues to expand, with multiple strikes by the US and Israel being met with retaliation from Iran and Iranian backed militias.
Reflecting on the operation in a speech, Trump said the US had projected it would take four to five weeks to get rid of Iran’s military leadership, but that was quickly accomplished, “so we’re ahead of schedule there.”
He also warned that the US has "the capability to go far longer than that.”
