
Chief executive of Newsmax Media, Christopher Ruddy, says the BBC made a "very serious effort to twist the facts" and "manipulate the truth" of President Trump’s speech.
He says "the president has a good reason to be angry".
Mr Ruddy said "the question of whether the president can actually win the legal case, is probably not very high" as "there is an extremely high standard in America to sue someone for libel".
He added the US president will "claim victory" if the BBC settles, and it will "certify his claim that the BBC manipulated the truth".
