Trump's administration given go ahead to end automatic birthright citizenship in the US

Donald Trump’s administration will be allowed to take steps to implement its proposal to end automatic birthright citizenship in the US following a decision by the Supreme Court.

The US president welcomed the ruling by posting on Truth Social that it was a "giant win". Although legal challenges can continue as the ruling only focuses on whether judges had the authority to put the policy on hold across the entire country.
