Watch live from Newcastle Crown Court as the two men who chopped down the tree at Sycamore Gap are sentenced.
Daniel Graham and Adam Carruthers were convicted of causing criminal damage to the tree and to Hadrian’s Wall following a trial in May.
The pair drove from Cumbria to the Northumberland landmark during a storm. One of them felled the sycamore and the other filmed it. The court heard how the pair caused more than £622,000 in damages by cutting down the tree and damaging Hadrian’s Wall, both belonging to the National Trust.
