At the centre of the debate over assisted dying are real people – those suffering with terminal illness and their families with strong feelings on either side.
Over the past year, Sky News has been following the journeys of two people given six months to live and on opposing sides of this debate.
Clare, who has supported the Assisted Dying Bill from its start gave us her reaction today. And Philip, a staunch opponent, spoke to us over the weekend. He died on Wednesday morning.
