UK and France begin limited one-in-one-out migrant returns deal

The one-in-one-out migrant returns treaty between the UK and France has come into force with the Government insisting the first detentions will happen in a matter of days.

It’s estimated that around 50 people a week will be exchanged, in a move opposition parties say will make little difference to the illegal channel crossing trade.
