UK and France hail ‘groundbreaking’ deal made to return migrants

Sir Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron have unveiled what they’ve hailed as a UK-France reset, along with a ‘groundbreaking’ swap deal that will see the exchange of small boat migrants for genuine asylum seekers. It comes with a pledge for Britain to crack down on illegal working.

But the two countries also plan to strengthen their collaboration on AI, defence and, for the first time, their nuclear deterrents.
