The UK and France have signed a Declaration of Intent to deploy their forces to Ukraine in the event of a peace deal.
Sir Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the agreement, which would see a ‘Multinational Force for Ukraine’ deployed to the country to deter future Russian attacks.
The aim is to provide a "reassurance force" to bolster security guarantees for the country.
The agreement covers troop numbers, as well as training provision and the necessary resources to help Ukraine return to peace and support the regeneration of its own forces.
