Two amber weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office, while the UK Health Security Agency has said low temperatures could particularly affect those with pre-existing health conditions or aged 65 and over.
It come as the charity director at Age UK said "millions" are going to be left vulnerable to the cold weather sweeping the country after the government’s changes to the winter fuel payment scheme.
