UK Economy: Chancellor’s plans to borrow and spend revealed

The Chancellor has announced new fiscal rules which could unleash tens of billions of pounds of infrastructure investment for projects such as new hospitals or railways, with the aim of improving economic growth in the UK.

Rachel Reeves confirmed the move in Washington where she was attending the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund.
