Health minister Maria Caulfield has defended the government’s handling of the economy after figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed it contracted by 0.5% in July.
She told Sky News it shows the government’s "message on inflation is right" because unless it is reduced, there will be continued economic pressures.
