UK exits recession as economy grows at higher rate than expected

It’s official: the UK is no longer in recession. The figures out today show the economy grew by a higher rate than most economists expected – 0.6% in the first quarter of this year. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)

It was enough for the Prime Minister to claim that "things are starting to feel better", but Labour insist low growth is not cause for gratitude.
