A deal to hand the Chagos Islands to Mauritius is being "finalised" after winning approval from Donald Trump and the US.
Discussions are ongoing between the UK and the Mauritian government over the terms of the deal, and Sky News understands Downing Street is not expecting any further input from the White House.
The islands, located in the Indian Ocean, house an airbase on Diego Garcia, which is important strategically for the UK and US.
