The government is to spell out in more detail how it will water down the welfare bill to head off a large-scale rebellion by backbench Labour MPs tomorrow.

Sir Keir Starmer was forced into a costly u-turn last week to save his benefits changes after more than 120 Labour MPs said they would rebel.
Concessions to rebel MPs mean the Prime Minister’s reforms will only save two-billion-pounds a year, rather than the five-billion they were hoping to save by 2030.
