The head of the Commons’ business and trade select committee has told Sky News the UK should not "shoot from the hip" in its response to Donald Trump’s trade tariffs.
The US president announced on Wednesday the US would be imposing tariffs on all steel and aluminium coming into the country.
Liam Byrne said the UK had a "unique possibility" to get a trade deal with America, compared to the EU, but that would be torpedoed by retaliatory tariffs.
