UK has relied 'far too heavily on foreign workforce', says Labour minister

Immigration minister Mike Tapp has warned that the UK has relied "far too heavily" on foreign workers over the past few years.

It follows the home secretary announcing sweeping changes to legal migration, including significantly extending how long immigrants will have to wait before they can apply for permanent residency in the UK.

Speaking to Matt Barbet on the Politics Hub, Tapp stated that "one in 30 people that live in the UK arrived in the last four years".
