The UK Health Security Agency’s (UKHSA) latest annual report has revealed that more than 1,500 cases of Lyme disease were reported across the UK in 2024.
The South West, South East, and London saw the highest number of confirmed cases of the illness.
In response, the UKHSA is renewing its efforts to remind the public how to protect themselves from tick bites this summer.
This comes as US singer Justin Timberlake announced he was diagnosed with the disease on Instagram on Thursday.
He said that the disease “can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically".
