UK inflation remains steady at 3% - but doesn’t factor in oil prices since Iran war

Inflation in the UK held steady at 3% according to new figures which reflect the time before the Iran war broke out.

The rate at which food prices are going up also slowed, falling back slightly in February.

But industry experts warned it was the "calm before the storm" with haulage and freight companies already raising their prices because of the increased cost of oil.

Some estimates predict inflation could rise as high as 4.6% by the end of this year.
