UK inflation unexpectedly rises to 3.6% in June

Inflation has risen higher than expected to 3.6% in June.

This is the fastest rate of inflation for 18 months. The Office for National Statistics put it down to fuel and food prices. The Chancellor Rachel Reeves said there was "more to do" to help bring inflation down.
