The prime minister said he wanted to see an end to the Iran war as quickly as possible to bring security back to the region and stops the Iranian threat to its neighbours. The longer it goes on, the worse the effect on the cost of living in the UK, he said.
The prime minister also announced £53m of support for people in rural areas affected by the steep rise in the cost of heating oil
